“Who Moved My Cheese” presents ideas which can relate to numerous aspects of life although it is a quick browse book but it contains a lasting impression. The focal point of the book on which the the author dwells on is our being down to business rather than hasty to change. The point is illustrated cleverly and I consider it an absolute entertaining story that fits for every ages. The author did a commendable work for giving us a narrative that can launch us into reflective thought about our own existence. The lesson applies to any type of life situation, from the profession to private relationships. A kind of resources that helps you lay common sense into focus and deal with life state of affairs at a positive way.

Listening to the pleasant voice of Tony Roberts as he efficiently reads the book is an awesome experience. Not to mention his telling ability to speak, unfolding the narrative of the two little mice namely Hem and Haw as well as their friends, Sniff and Scurry. The parable revolves around Hem and Haw while they become settled in their secure home in a very wealthy dwelling. I must say the book is incredibly beneficial to people that needs to get primary guidance or words of wisdom about the life depicted in the book.

You can also effectively see the considerable distinction between acting proactively and reactively while in the pursuit of happiness which most of us, if not all of us yearn for. Life’s lessons can by no means be learnt too thoroughly, and thus will in no way be said too frequently. “Who Moved My Cheese” embodies application of many resources which can show the way to happiness and misery too. I urge potential consumers of the book to be open-minded and check your behaviors and see which representation in the account you see yourself.

You can’t help but find yourself contemplating and realizing it really is getting an impact on you. I’ve known colleagues of mine who’ve made various major transformations because of the deep significance of this book and that is the real price; it provides a moment to temporary halt and be mindful and contemplate on being adaptable to change. Change is a hard thing to do and this makes it a valuable little book. This could be a fantastic project during a management class too, using the discussion section of the book leading into a category conversation of how the book’s lessons be relevant to actual life situations.

This little book has led me to realize that if one would like to endure in this highly competitive and stressful world, you had better learn to adapt to a major change and love it. Let’s face it, the world as we have a tendency to believed, is altering as speedily and dramatically as a toddler shifts into a kid and then into a pre-schooler and then into a first grader. That phase of our human evolution spans approximately six years and in looking back, the infant who could not not blink, roll over, speak, or feed themselves, will now be turning right into a practically self-sufficient and independent little person. They look forward to the daily and weekly changes in their lives, there’s very little anxiety in them concerning “what’s next” for the rationale that virtually everything is new and unidentified.

Resistance to change is accepting slow extinction as changes in life is unavoidable. Accepting change is relevant to succeeding in life. Being that the one who accepts it will try and find ways to overcome the situation and will emerge in flying colours. The book tells you that being receptive to change will propel you to the right path and help you find light. Listening to this book is like opening a floodgate of countless possibilities.

The author of the best selling book “The Secret” declared that the facts she presented in her book were unearth by her unintentionally. That she was at the lowest point of her life when she wrote the popular book as a matter of factly. It was after her father’s death that she discovered The Secret . She had worked herself into exhaustion, unfulfilling relationship and more. She felt like her life was spiraling into chaos. Then Rhonda stumbled across information that became an eye-opener that changed her life forever. It made her reach out to leaders in the self-help, therapeutic and quantum physics arenas in order to discover who else knew what she had recently found out about. This week as I read “The Secret” again and tried to digest it into my soul, it suddenly illuminated something that says that the book is an excellent reminder of the easiest possible way to achieve our dreams. I realized that success and happiness is within our reach.

The Secret affirms The Law of Attraction and both state that whatever you think about, you will attract. And it is so simple. All it takes is three easy steps: Ask for what you want. The world around you will answer and you will Receive. But that’s too easy, you may say! It may seem but look, from Jack Canfield, founder of the Chicken Soup book series, to philosopher, Roy Proctor, to motivational speaker, Lisa Nichols, people answered the call and stepped forward and told Rhonda that they knew about the powers of the mind, powers that are often disregarded and belittled. The Law of Attraction has never been explained so comprehensivelym and concisely as in “The Secret.” It states that like attracts like; your thoughts and feelings attract correlating experiences. The pattern may seem so simple but the involvements are beyond imagination. For most people this power remains a secret. Others may have noticed its power but has not figured out how to reliably make use of it. Some who have known the technique often forget to put it into practice. No problem, the solution is here and it’s called “The Secret,” an amazing book that alluringly reveals everything you need to know in visualizing your dreams.

Imagine having the power to easily manifest whatever your heart desires. Imagine being able to magically attract experiences that bring you joy and fulfillment. Sounds so great! Isn’t it?, but what is more incredible is that you already have this power! In summary, what you thinks about or sees as images and visions in your mind is what one is in the process of creating or bringing into the physical dominion in their life. “The Secret” is suitable for anyone with an open mind. Not only is it ideal for novices due to the concepts being presented in a transparent and enjoyable manner, but it also satisfies advanced students of metaphysics because the execution is so delightfully original and insightful. Fans of other motivational book will undoubtedly find “The Secret” even more enjoyable because in comparison, the latter is more focused, concise, and thorough.

You could even say it’s arousing the entrepreneurial spirit, converging on the positive aspects of entrepreneurship. In such manner that talking about negative matters, topic like the “entrepreneurial myth,” would be a sin. True entrepreneurs strive with their business opportunities for a variety of reasons. However, aside from my own entrepreneurial experience and knowledge of others, there are major reasons individuals fail in entrepreneurial ventures. They neglect to set realistic goals and plans for themselves and their business. They are not prepared to pay the price of success. These also represents entrepreneurial myth. The “myth” that most people who start small business are “entrepreneurs” or “the fatal assumption that an individual who understands the technical work of a business can successfully run a business that does that technical work.” These are the definitions of entrepreneurial myth in the book E-Myth by Mr. Gerber that attributes the root cause of most small business failures.

Why is this so? Michael Gerber unfolded the answers in his book E-Myth Revisited. The discussions revolve around the philosophies that could make or break the future of small businesses. These philosophies are: entrepreneurial myth (e-myth), the turn-key revolution and the business development process. The assumption is that successful business is simply acquired by summing up the following: an appetite to own a business plus the ability to lay out amount for capital he puts in and the knowledge of the of targeted profit. This mediocre formula does not spell SUCCESS but DISASTER ahead. Moreover, the success of a business whether small scale or large scale is clearly dependent on multitude of factors that are all interrelated and reliant on each other. It is essential then that all these intertwining factors are anatomized and connected so that the entrepreneur gets the whole context before venturing on the thought of owning a business.

Being “technician” is important but it cannot guarantee success in business. The challenge for most technicians is that they need to learn two new roles in order to be a successful. These roles are the “entrepreneur”, the visionary and risk taker, and “manager,” the person that systematizes and keeps everything running effectively. The role they know from their experience is about getting the actual work done, but it represents only one third of what they need to be good at. This answers why most technicians gets disappointed in their businesses and later drain their energy. Most technicians that start a business have little entrepreneurial or managerial experience. Starting a business of your own can be compared to joining a marathon race. You inevitably dream big while on the starting line but as the race progresses you see a lot of fellow racers fall behind. Many are not able to endure the test of stamina and agility of the race. The same goes with small businesses worldwide. Only a few are really able to reach the big dream. Majority of them simply fail no matter how extensive the efforts might be. The E-Myth revisited will help you understand thoroughly why your business works well in the areas that it does. The book will make you see why you get so frustrated with your business at times. Another advantage is that it is not only an easy book to read, but it is very interesting too as it presented the real life story of an entrepreneur.

Long Tail is a retailing concept characterizing the niche strategy of selling a large number of unique items in relatively small quantities – usually in addition to selling fewer popular items in large quantities. The concept was popularised by Chris Anderson in an October 2004 Wired magazine article, in which he mentioned Amazon.com and Netfixas examples of businesses applying this strategy. He then profoundly elaborated the Long Tail concept in his book The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More. The concept of the Long Tail has transformed modern retail. Traditional businesses converges on getting as much value as possible from a small number of products, thereby constricting consumer choice. They focus on what’s called the ‘top’ products. They may be getting more sales from a small number of products, but they are losing a lot of money because they’re not carrying a large variety of products consumers can choose from. It has essentially one big idea—that the nature of demand has changed fundamentally in the modern world. Presently, you can see a considerable proportion of the total demand in majority of product categories comes from items that individually sell in very small numbers, rather than mostly from the hit products which sell in huge numbers.

The market in the future will be much less homogeneous than today’s markets. Instead, they will have countless small and dynamic niches. Chris Anderson’s “Long Tail” is an engaging observation of the market’s current state, distribution media and modern technology. These factors have led to a niche market and drifting away from mass consumption products. Chris Anderson convincingly points out that profits are to be found in niche products. That entrepreneurs must exploit the power of modern technology in reaping the fruits this newly found rich market has to offer. Conventionally, markets were driven by products which were consumed densely and this translated into fewer products that drive sales and profits. The 80:20 formula, where eighty percent of profits were made by twenty percent of goods, compelled marketers to push fewer items. In an interesting phrase called the ‘tyranny of locality’, the author submits that traditional goods which are sold in supermarkets are restricted in their reach because of the physical constraint. Democratization process has made the long tail phenomenon viable. People can now compete with larger institutions in spheres like writing, film making, animation and other creative pursuits with the use of digital tools. Reaching out to niche markets has been very feasible as prices of digital products and distribution cost has severely decreased pushing the demand down the tail.

The book discusses the nine rules of the long tail:

Move inventory way in… Or way out: This refers to the use of digital goods or to use warehouses of partners in order to save cost of carrying inventory.

Let customers do the work: Customer review and rating have become a rage on the internet. Amazon and eBay have mastered the art of using the sales channel, both consumers and producers, to provide product reviews.

One distribution method doesn’t fit all: The assumption that all customers prefer the same sales channel has to be ammended. Traditional retail outlets, online resources and other niche markets have to be distributed simultaneously to cater to different customer profiles.

One product doesn’t fit all, either: ‘Microchunk’ is a phrase coined to denote products which can be used in parts, as a whole or by mixing and matching them. For example, news content can be fed via RSS to individual consumers in countless ways.

One price doesn’t fit all: Markets are ever price sensitive. Converting potential customers into buyers can be possible by giving a flexible pricing schemes.

Share information: Today’s consumer is spoilt for choice. Helpful information required to make an intelligent purchase should be made available, in order to ensure that consumer makes the right and informed choice.

Think ‘and,’ not ‘or’: This refers to a psychology of abundance as against that of scarcity. Mobilizing consumers to buy many products instead of making a choice between them.

Trust the market to do your job: In a market of abundance, one should not predict the outcome. Let the market force take their own course. Learning from experience is a better way of altering marketing strategies as a response.

Understand the power of free: Though things change, yet they remain the same. The power of freebies should not be undervalued. This book is a detailed analysis of how niche markets are on the rise courtesy of better distribution. A wonderful book!

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are helpful to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds. This is a subject that is gaining popularity. Among the people who accept it, not many know how to use it effectively to get results. Yet, it seems that many are becoming attracted to this subject, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. It is quite common to hear people say: “Think positive!”, to someone who feels down and worried. Most people do not take these words seriously, as they do not know what they really mean, or do not consider them as useful and effective. How many people do you know, who stop to think what the power of positive thinking means?

When the attitude is positive we entertain pleasant feelings and productive images, and see in our mind’s eye what we really want to happen. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy and happiness. The whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even the health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall and the voice is more powerful. Our body language shows the way you feel inside. All of us affect, in one way or another, the people we meet. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through thoughts and feelings transference, and through body language. People sense our aura and are affected by our thoughts, and vice versa. Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people and avoid negative ones? People are more disposed to help us if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity. Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment. The power of positive thinking is boundless.

Norman Vincent Peale in his book “The Power Of Positive Thinking” suggests techniques and give examples to demonstrate that you do not need to feel defeated by anything, that you can have peace of mind, improved health, and a never ceasing-flow of energy. He further stated that people should not ignore or minimize the hardships and tragedies of the world, but neither do we allow them to dominate. I truly admire his context about what positive thoughts can make to ones life. Positive thinking is only a part of changing a person’s beliefs. It’s an important part, so often we’re our own worst enemy when it comes to what we tell ourselves. We believe things we say in our minds that we would never tolerate someone saying to our face. Positive thinking does work, as long as it is backed up by changing our actions to support that thinking. Our subconscious mind will recognise a lie, however we can change that to become a truth by supporting the new positive thinking with repetition and actions.

Think of the future rewards your positive thinking can lead to. Start your day with positive thinking by counting your blessings. And you will find yourself utilizing the power of positive thinking.

A sharp, aggressively and adequately reasoned book about competition that your smarter rivals will try to get to first. The most authoritative marketing book of the past quarter century if I have to say it with all honesty. A factual goldmine of analytical concepts and tools to help companies get a much clearer grasp of how they can create and keep up competitive advantage. An indespensable must have book for marketing students too. Strategic Marketing: Creating Competetive Advantage also gets to the core of how teamwork are created and when diversification might work. It gracefully addressed diverse approach and strategies for pricing, distribution, promotion, advertising and market segmentation. Factors such as market penetration, market share, profit margins, budgets, financial analysis, capital investment, government actions, demographic changes, emerging technology and cultural trends are essential issues that need to be fully digested by marketing people and students.

Marketing is a philosophy that leads to the process by which organizations, groups and individuals obtain what they need and want by identifying value, providing it, communicating it and delivering it to others. The core concepts of marketing are customers’ needs, wants and values; products, exchange, communications and relationships. Marketing is strategically concerned with the direction and scope of the long-term activities performed by the organization to obtain a competitive advantage. The organization applies its resources within a changing environment to satisfy customer needs while meeting stakeholder expectations. Douglas West successfully laid out the outlines in handling strategic marketing, creating competetive advantage among other competitors.
Implied in his view of strategic marketing is the requirement to develop a strategy to cope with competitors, identify market opportunities, develop and commercialize new products and services, allocate resources among marketing activities and design an appropriate organizational structure to ensure the performance desired is achieved. A strategic marketing approach attempts to determine ways of offering superior value to the more profitable segments without damaging individual customer relationships. A strategic marketing approach reflects an integrated approach based onresearch and feedback. Customer needs are first evaluated through market research, an integrated marketing effort is developed to satisfy customers so that the organization achieves its goals, especially those affecting shareholders. This is a customer orientation and contrasts very bluntly with a narrow competitor orientation based on sales in which the organization by capitalizingon the weaknesses of vulnerable competitors or by removing its own competitive weaknesses attempts to obtain high sales and long-run profits therby sustaining the competetive edge. The structure simplifies navigation by providing a clear overview of the process of strategic marketing, and promotes a holistic understanding of the subject. Strategic Marketing: Creating Competitive Advantage comprises a wealth of international real-world examples which manifests strategic marketing in practice that allows students to have an in-depth comprehension of the the importance of theoretical concepts.

Many have been pursuing Success for years, and others start towards it and seem to find it almost immediately. It is a concept that wars have been fought over. The meaning of Success comes in many forms, and many definitions. It depends on what you are searching for in life, and searching for in business. It really depends on the perspective of life you have. Perspectives on Success are as numerous as the stars. Success is the result of steadily taking action on our most important goals. When we consistently focus our energies and our efforts upon what matters most, we can’t help but be successful — a beautiful definition coming from Michael Angier. If you do not set goals, you’re going nowhere. imagine the ship sails away to the open sea without the captain and a team and without any destination point. Where will this ship moor? Often people laugh at this question, and answer ‘of course no where’. In the best case it will land on the low-water. When the ship goes without destination this is funny, but when person goes through life without goal, Is that okey? If you set low goals, you will achieve miserable results, or no results at all. Your mind is activated only by high and great goals. If you set high results, you will achieve at least medium results. Try to focus your mind only on the high goals, difficult goals, and then you can expect it go forward achieve marvellous results. It is therefore imperative to learn the success.

Skills for Success teaches students to prolifically think about personal, academic and career goals. the book stimulates the readers to identify what success is to them and to create an effective plan towards achieving their aims. The truth is: if you do not plan your life yourself, someone else will plan your life, and that would be not convenient and profitable for you. All the life you will take part in reaching aims, but the question is would it be your aims, or someones else (e.g. boss, government, etc), you will help everyone to reach their goal’s, but do not make even a step to reach yours. Does the family of your boss have a bigger value to you, than your own? I don’t think so. Set goals if you would like to achieve results. If you strive to success, set goals with the exact deadline, tasks to be completed, and the execution period. You will achieve results only when you have the plan.

Goal setting is the beginning of success and goal setting should be followed by action. Neither your goal setting theory nor your actions have to be perfect. A key to success is to start anywhere; over time, your vision will clear and your actions improve. Success is a continuous learning of strategy. This learning is both theoretical and practical. Eventually, when you do something long enough, you become very good at it. This process is accelerated when you follow someone who can guide you past common mistakes. After you find a mentor, you have to stay consistent, refusing to get discouraged by challenges that will arise because of your lack of knowledge or resources. Skills For Success can also be your great mentor. We need goals, a lofty ideal, and a compelling reason for existence. Deny us meaning and westagnate, feel empty, and even become self-destructive. Ultimately, success is about being fully YOU.

Communication skills were considered more important than either technical knowledge…or computer skills. We have mass communication and a few allied fields as a major in college. Most of these studies are in the specialized level and only for those who want to build a profession either in talking; writing or such things. It is high time everyone is given at least the basic training so that each one of us can understand the implication and importance of communication skills. Importance of communication skills has been heavily discounted in any kind of formal education that we undergo. It is the same with the other two very important things in life, money and sex. We are always shunned from talking about it as if it were some kind of sin. But everyone is doing everything to attain either of them. Thank god. the scene with communication skills is not so bad; nevertheless it is high time we all realize this. Another thing closely related to this topic is the issue of confidence. Some people are very clear on what they want to say but get into anxiety and embarassing moments. Understanding the scope of better communication skills will make one very effective in “Persuasion: The Art Of Influencing People“.

Imagine being able to influence people with ease, confidence and clarity. Anyone who wants to influence and persuade others with impact will benefit from reading this “Persuasion” book. It will also be beneficial for those who find it difficult to say ‘No’ when being influenced by other people. Persuasion power can help you get things you want faster than anything else you do. It emphasizes the big difference between success and failure. It can guarantee your progress and enable you to use all of your other skills and abilities at the very highest level. Your persuasion power will earn you the support of others.

James Borg, a work psychologist and coach, says: “It is no exaggeration to say that a person’s success in life is totally dependent on his or her ability to persuade and influence.” Borg estimates that the top 80 per cent of the workforce achieve success through their ability to persuade other people that they are worthy. In-depth knowledge of the art of influencing people reaps a number of benefits. You can acquire practical techniques, strategies and skills for influencing people with impact. It builds rapport effortlessly and use pacing and leading to influence others. Most importantly you win people over, build and maintain trust and make a positive impact when persuading. We all depend profoundly on our persuasive powers every day. Living each day hopeless and feeling inferior. Forgetting about the word “hope”. True hope dwells on the possible, even when life seems to be a plot written by someone who wants to see how much adversity we can overcome. True hope responds to the real world, to real life; it is an active effort. You can change – if you can imagine problems, you can imagine solutions. On your journey to success there will always be distractions. There will always be critics and detractors, but you cannot allow them to derail your plans and lose your focus because of them. You fail to consider that it’s not about how good you are, it’s how good you want to be.

Just as location is the key driver to success in real estate, simplification is the key to success in life. No matter how much you want your life to change, it’s impossible if there is no room for change. It’s about changing our pattern of thinking, about changing what we choose to focus on and mostly about changing our fundamental attitude. This whole process of changing course in life is simplified awesomely by Paul Arden in his best-selling book “It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You can Be”. This magnificent advertising man, vividly shown the ways on how to smash down life’s impossible barriers using a fresh combination of wit, smart thinking, and horiffic mistakes. That being intelligent doesn’t necessary imply success, and likewise, success doesn’t necessarily imply intelligence.

A man of character finds a special attractiveness in difficulty, since it is only by coming to grips with difficulty that he can realize his potentialities. It is during this time that a person with a positive attitude will see the challenges and the problems but will focus on the solutions rather than on the possible consequences of those problems. That person will focus on the good rather than keep dwelling on what is wrong in the world. We can read and hear about changing our attitude until the cows come home but if we don’t actually do it, nothing is going to change. “It’s Not How Good You Are, It’s How Good You Want To Be” highlighted the fact that it is good to have failures in life, to commit mistake. What matters most is the learning process on how to bounce back and cash in on that failure. Paul Arden’s book should be a compulsory to anyone who wants to bring out the best in them during the most trying times.

I am highly interested to read the guru’s research on the subject. Reading the title of his book has made a chilling spark to my spine and I can’t explain why. My marketing back ground and the life path career which has always been related to buying and selling excites me to learn more on the book. Buyology unveils the results of marketing guru Martin Lindstrom’s pioneering three year, $7 million dollar study that used the latest in brain scan technology to peer into the minds of over 2,000 people from around the world. The shocking results will invalidate why so much of what we thought we knew about why we buy is wrong, rewriting the rules of marketing and advertising in the process. Now I come to know why that effect on me upon reading the title of my next article. He definitely knows where to tickle customers and consumers alike, doesn’t he?

Martin Lindstrom knows exactly why people buy, not just him but of course all marketing people should as well. I have always been fascinated in the psychology of choice and buyer behavior and this book explains the science and surprise behind how we react to familiar ads. Another thing I worth checking about the book is that it gives you a glimpse about what makes Martin Lindstrom one of the premier branding experts in the world today; his curiosity and passion. This book is a manifestation of his journey from curiosity about what works and why. In as much as this book pulls global resources to answer these questions, it’s an engaging report on what happened in the process and what Lindstrom learned.
Advertising is one of the many marketing tools that are used to attract attention of prospective customers to a business or its products or services. Attracting customers will mean leading them into buying. The more effective an advertising campaign, more the customers it draws, and with greater frequency. Advertising is part of the overall marketing strategy of a business, which includes public relations, promotional programs, signage, incentives, newsletters, and word of mouth, among other strategies. The aim of a marketing strategy is to use advertising, along with these other tools, for maximum impact. Reading Buyology will make us the buying market realize to use our rationality before getting into our shopping spree and not to fall under the mesmerizing jargons of advertising agencies to the contentment of the product manufacturers.
