All about me

Born in the fishing port of Fleetwood on the northwest Lancashire coast, David Stirzaker grew up with a passion for travel and adventure, nurtured by parents Anne and Bill.

Flourishing more in sport than traditional academia, he was grounded in the common sense school of life, learning quickly to fend for himself and pursue his dreams and goals through practical means.

Upon leaving high school, David joined the family restaurant business, becoming a completely self-taught entrepreneurial chef and chocolatier, specialising in his passion for bread and savoury dishes, whilst also carving himself a successful niche in property development. He was drummer with the cult UK Indie rock band Désormais, completing several successful tours of major English cities before the band split in 2002, with each member keen to pursue their own individual career path. In something of a departure, David embraced the opportunity to undertake an Offshore Survival Course, adding further to his increasingly diverse skill set.

After many successful years in the family business, David felt he had taken it as far as it could go and, with his parentsʼ blessing, took the decision to expand his talents and explore new horizons. In a roller coaster, action packed year that followed, he launched his new company, Primary Work at Home, becoming an immensely successful UK pioneer of the liberating principle of working to live, rather than living to work. He has already helped many others realise their dreams of achieving the true freedom of creating and working in their own business.

David is still based in his beloved home town, from where he runs his global businesses.

Along with wife Catherine, son James and daughters Annabelle and Eva, he strives to live life according to the sound values and principles which have remained important throughout his life.
